Weekly reminder 16th-20th October 2023

Whole School

  • At pick up and drop off from school and clubs please do not remain on the school site. Children should not play in the playground or on the climbing frame once they have been collected.
  • Please only give your child healthy snacks  and drinks such as fruit, vegetables and water to take to school. From Monday 30th October staff will ask children to take home any inappropriate snacks and drinks they may have. This is for the benefit our children’s health, and also to reduce litter on our school site.
  • If you have experience/ skills in live sound and sound engineering and would be willing to donate your expertise and experience for the Year 5 and 6 Christmas Concert on Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th December please contact Miss Vetch k.vetch@coldfall.haringey.sch.uk The concert is in support of Educaid. We have the necessary equipment that has served us well in previous concerts.
  • On Friday 20th October we will be celebrating Harvest Festival. Children can dress in Harvest/Autumn colours. We kindly ask that children bring in £1 for Educaid and 1 non-perishable food item for our local soup kitchen. Thank you for your support.
  • In the first week after the half-term break we will once more be taking part in the NSPCC’s Speak out. Stay safe. ProgrammeSpeak out. Stay safe. is a programme for children aged 5-11 which aims to help children understand abuse and to recognise the signs of abuse. Children are taught to speak out if they are worried, either to a safe adult or Childline.

This child friendly programme is aligned with the curriculum and consists of age appropriate virtual assemblies and supporting classroom based activities which we have reviewed. The content is delivered in an engaging, non-threatening and interactive way with the help of the NSPCC mascot Buddy. If you would like to know more about the Speak out. Year 1

  • We kindly ask that children bring in a spare set of clothes to stay on their pegs in case of messy play or accidents.
  • Please can children bring in a sock for their sock puppet workshop on Thursday 19th October. Parents and Carers are invited to come and see the sock puppets in the Main Hall at 2pm. We hope to see you there.

Year 2

  • Year 2 will enjoy an exciting Bollywood workshop on Monday 16th October. Children can come in colourful, comfortable clothing. Parents and carers are invited to a performance at 3pm in the Main Hall. Please arrive at 2.50pm and wait in the playground outside the Main Hall for the performance to begin. Once the performance is over, please wait in the playground to collect your child from their classrooms as usual.

Year 3

  • Year 3 have been designing and creating a hand sewn purse for our Design and Technology lessons which you will be able to view in your child’s classroom on Friday 20th October at 3pm. We hope to see you there.

Year 4

  • On Tuesday 17th October Year 4 will be heading to the British Museum. Please see the letter send on 13th October for details.
  • On Thursday 19th October Year 4 we will be making shields in preparation for our Roman Day! Please could children bring in a flattened large cardboard box if you have one.

Year 6

  • The deadline for secondary applications for all schools is 30th October 2023.
