Mental Health and Wellbeing
As parents and carers, we play an important role in teaching children and young people how to understand and manage their feelings as they grow up. Good mental health and wellbeing helps children:
- develop
- attend school
- engage in learning
- fulfil their potential
Schools contribute to wellbeing by providing:
- a safe, calm and supportive learning environment
- early targeted support for pupils and learners who need help
Embedding an evidence-based, holistic, whole school approach helps to achieve this, and at Coldfall Primary School, we have a trained mental health lead (Miss King) and a pastoral team to oversee the mental health and wellbeing support for our children. We work closely with outside Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) to provide additional capacity for early support and to meet the mental health needs of the children in our care. Please see our Mental Health and Wellbeing Policy and Provision Map below.
